Life’s Complete Cycle
A rose petal falls on blades of grass and crumbles beneath the weight of heartbreak.
A white feather withers and drifts in a tempest of emotion, crushed by fate.
A tear slides down cheek, floats to the ground, evaporates into nothingness before contact.
A heart flutters and stalls to the sound of emptiness in time and space.
A life ascends to omnipotent space, floats through nebula, in limbo for eternal existence.
A mind sees all the above and grounds disorder in philosophical embrace.
A thought moves passion forward, past despair, to lighted realms like clouds of cotton.
A beat opens like rose petals to release ecstasy in reckless abandon.
A karma transcends trivial destiny to challenge what is said to be for what can be.
A life completes cycles of emotional journeys to find itself back in the embrace of a mother’s womb.
what can i say about paris?
what can I say about paris
that hasn’t already been said?
on this day of mourning

should I call for a collective prayer?
that’s been done millions of times

What is Love?
Love is not a war film

goes through the depths of hell and
returns drenched in blood from murder;
he’s psychologically ruined. Read the rest of this entry
These Little Heart Murmurs
What sour sweetness fills the air?
What mixed flavors spur these thoughts?
What song moves us closer?

What plots?
What counsel?

Salem News Review of My Verse – 2014
‘My Verse’ by Prof. Wilson Santos: Giving a Voice to the Voiceless
Agron Belica Salem-News.com
(ORLANDO) – Jamal Belica of Aldin Entertainment Music Group has brought a very moving video to the attention of the Salem News. While working on his own projects to spread the word for a better world he came across “My Verse” by Prof. Wilson Santos of Full Sail University that speaks of the pathos of the deprived, especially the children. Though it is hard-hitting and graphic and not for the squeamish, he found it so motivational that he knew he had to share it with others and he had me take a look at it.
I, too, found it moving and at times gut wrenching. Both the words and the images shake our complacency, revealing a side of the human condition that we would rather not be privy to. But it is there; poverty, homelessness, the chaos of war and oppression are there, lurking behind the façade of so-called civilized society. Most painful of all are the scenes of suffering and exploited innocent children. It makes one question the social priorities of our leaders.

I Wish I Were a Deadbeat Dad
Sometimes I wish I were a deadbeat dad. I’d be accountable only for me and my wants and needs. Sometimes I wish I were more selfish and kept my money in a savings account or just spent it on things I want, like trendy clothes and sneakers or after-work happy hours or expensive dinners or bottles at all night parties on weekends. I would sleep late on Sundays and never get up to cook breakfast, cause I don’t like bacon and eggs anyway. I wish I didn’t have to rush home after work to mundane, routine, often frustrated evenings, checking homework and disciplining a third grader who’s constantly in trouble at school. I would pay child support only when I wanted to or could, cause that wouldn’t be my priority. I wish I didn’t have that extra expense for health coverage. Instead, I would use that money to travel the way I used to. I wish I’d have some sense of spontaneity, so when a friend calls me to hang out, I could say “I’ll be right over” and simple gatherings or even dating wouldn’t become long-planned affairs at the mercy of a baby sitter’s availability. Sometimes I wish I wouldn’t have a little body dependent on me for his very survival. Life would be much easier.
Judgements & Misconceptions (2000)
*Originally written on a Hyatt Regency letterhead, this poem was turned into a spoken word house music track and released on Fluential Records (UK) in 2002, with music produced by Wilson and Steven Mestre.

It was about 6:15 in the morning I’m drunk and I’m high and I’m in Chicago now, I had just stumbled out of some club, somewhere I can’t even remember, and um I walked to the corner to hail a cab and after five empty cabs just passed me by one finally stopped Read the rest of this entry
